CENTRALIZED CONTROL COORDINATOR PASSING SCHEME USING SCHEDULING INFORMATION PARAMETER SET FOR IEEE802.11 WIRELESS LAN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication protocol for transmission scheduling information in a system such as an IEEE802.11 wireless LAN (local area network) multi-hop system. SOLUTION: The transmission scheduling information is formatted within a CF-Poll+Data+SIPS data frame transmitted by the centralized coordinator (PC) which is any one of the access point (AP) nodes transmitting in turn as dictated by the scheduling parameters within the scheduling information parameter set (SIPS). The SIPS comprises an offset field, a delay field, and interval field. The subsequent scheduling of assigned transmission slots by providing boundaries for the transmission frames through SIPS eliminates collisions resulting from multiple units transmitting simultaneously.
