PURPOSE: A piezometer installation method utilizing a press-fitting protective pipe and the press-fitting protective pipe are provided to prevent breakage and a failure of a piezometer and a canvas sand bag, to install the piezometer in the installation measurement depth quickly and exactly, and to obtain an exact measurement value by preventing disturbance of in-situ ground. CONSTITUTION: A press-fitting protective pipe(200) comprises a housing(210) of a tube shape and a cone(213). Plural percolation holes(211) are bored in the outer peripheral surface of the housing at uniform intervals, and a sand bag(230) including a piezometer is installed to the inner space of the housing. The cone is fitted and fixed to the cone of the lower side of the housing with such a fixing unit(214) as a bolt. The cone induces smooth press-fitting of the housing. At least two press-fitting guide ribs(212) are protruded on the outer peripheral surface of the lower side of the housing. The press-fitting protective pipe comprises a fitting-fastening part(220) fixed with a clearance from the upper side of the housing by connection rods(215). A pair of rings(221) opposed are formed to the outer peripheral surface of the fitting-fastening part. A connection device(400) for taking down the housing into a borehole is fastened to the fitting-fastening part.
