PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the snow to melt not only the neighborhood of an eaves as the main body but also the whole roof surface, at the same time, provide an eaves snow melting device constituted of a new structure so as to enable the occurrence of an icicle or the like hung on the eaves to control and a new eaves snow melting method making use thereof by exclusively and successively melting fallen snow with the risk resulting from the fall of snow fallen around the eaves in relation to a snow-melting technique of the roof by means of a system enabling the snow to successively melt by heating the fallen snow on the roof. SOLUTION: The eaves snow melting device 1 is so constituted that a heating section 3 constituted of a longer heating material-made member incorporating a linear heater 4 therein is placed to an eaves fascia board 6 or a place corresponding to the fascia board 6 and that a predetermined extent of the eaves can be heated from a part of the eaves fascia board 6.
