PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and precise toning method of a glossy coating capable of repetitious toning. SOLUTION: The method for toning a glossy coating containing a glossy material, whose preset constituents are known, comprises the steps of : (1) preparing an enamel reference plate without a glossy material based on preset coating constituents of the above glossy coating from which a glossy material and coating additives, if required, are eliminated; (2) obtaining a toned enamel coating corresponding to the color of the enamel reference plate by mixing raw coloring materials not including a glossy material and coating additives, if necessary, to tone; (3) toning by adding a glossy material and coating additives according to the requirement to the above toned enamel coating.
