PURPOSE: An LCD panel is provided to add an orientation control agent to a liquid crystal showing a nematic phase at room temperature and having a minus permittivity anisotropy. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal(30) showing a nematic phase at room temperature and having a minus permittivity anisotropy is sealed between a TFT substrate(10) where an alignment layer is not formed and an opposite substrate(20). An orientation control agent is previously added to the liquid crystal(30). The orientation control agent added to the liquid crystal(30) is attached to surfaces of the substrates(10,20) to grow up. When UV rays are irradiated, the orientation control agent is polymerized to form orientation-regulating layers(19,25) on the surfaces of the substrates(10,20).
