<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for neutralizing and fixing a halogen from halogen-containing combustibles and producing chemical energy or a chemical raw material. <P>SOLUTION: The halogen-containing combustibles are made to coexist with an alkali-containing substance and heat-treated so that the halogen and the alkali are neutralized and fixed to inorganic salts, separation energy in halogen production is recovered as neutralization reaction heat, and thermal decomposition is caused in an environment containing water vapor and/or oxygen to obtain a useful gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
