PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a multilayer ceramic body in which a deformation, delamination or cracking can be suppressed using a small number of steps even when thin ceramic green sheets are laid in multilayer and lowering of reliability due to incomplete insulation can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The process for producing a multilayer ceramic body includes a step for printing conductive paste on the major surface of a ceramic green sheet 1 to form a rectangular conductor pattern 3 simultaneously with a shape holding pattern 5 thicker than the conductor pattern 3 and surrounding the conductor pattern 3 while being spaced apart therefrom, a step for forming a parent mutilayer body 9 by laying a plurality of ceramic green sheets 1 on which the conductor pattern 3 and the shape holding pattern 5 are formed, and a step for forming a multilayer ceramic body by cutting the parent mutilayer body 9 in the laying direction to remove the part of the parent mutilayer body 9 where the shape holding pattern 5 is formed.
