FIELD: compact-disks; copyprotection and copying control mechanisms including record medium authentication. SUBSTANCE: information to be entered in record medium is scrambled using copyprotection key. Reference disk carrying modified subblock fields and scrambled information is generated. Record media are replicated using reference disk. Copyprotection key is entered during record medium generation by converting chosen quantity and addresses of blocks. In the process subblock fields of chosen blocks are modified during generation of reference disk and information is scrambled in other blocks.
