The invention relates to inorganic, monolithic moulded bodies, whose surface is coated with physically or chemically adsorbed organic polymers, in addition to a method for producing materials of this type. The inventive materials are particularly suitable for use as sorbents for chromatography, in particular for the high-pressure liquid chromatography of biological materials.
