PREPARATION METHOD OF BALLAST MAT

PURPOSE: A preparation method of a ballast mat using the waste tire powders with the residual fiber powders is provided to shorten the forming time and to give a ballast mat having the clean surface and the good flexibility. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method of a ballast mat using the waste tire powders comprises the steps of: pulverizing a waste tire into the powders having the mean particle diameter of not more than about 2 mm, wherein the waste tire comprises at least 50% of natural rubber or styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber; blending the tire powders and a determined amount of a crosslinking agent, unvulcanized rubber, a vulcanizing agent and a plasticizer, putting in a mixer and mixing until the temperature of the mixture reaches 90 to 110 deg.C; and charging a press mold with the mixture and press forming at 150 to 160 deg.C for 15 to 20 minutes to form the ballast mat.
