PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which lateral-line patterns can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, the pulse width of a gate-on signal applied to a line applied with a data signal differing in polarity from that of a data voltage applied to the last line is widened and the pulse width of a gate-on signal applied to a line applied with a data voltage with the same polarity is narrowed. At this time, the modulation quantity of the pulse width of the gate-on signal is preferably increased toward lower stages of a liquid crystal panel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
