<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which stabilizes image gloss and can stably obtain copied images of good image quality over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In a fixing step in which a transfer material with a supported toner image is passed through a nip section formed by a fixing body and a pressurizing body to fix the toner image on the transfer material by heating and contact pressure bonding, the fixing body does not have a contact member other than the pressurizing member, in order to control the temperature of the fixing body, a temperature near the surface of the fixing body is sensed as the surface temperature of the fixing body by a non-contact type temperature sensing means disposed at a position without parts corresponding to L/6 from both ends of the fixing body, wherein L represents the length of the fixing body in the lengthwise direction, the toner has a weight average particle diameter of 5-10 μm, the number % of toner particles whose particle diameter is ≤4 μm to the entire toner is ≤25%, and the toner has a Kerr's fluidity index of 50-98 and a Kerr's particulate index of 65-98. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
