PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composting promotion sheet which, when laid on a compost material to ferment it, prevents the compost material from being wetted with rainwater or water drops, prevents a liquid from flowing out of the compost material and from polluting soil, a river, or the like, prevents the material from emitting a malodor, and promotes the fermentation and composting of the material. SOLUTION: The composting promotion sheet is made of a nonwoven fabric composed of (a) ultrafine fibers with an average fiber diameter of 0.1 to 10μm and having (b) an average pore size of 2 to 10μm, (c) a gas permeability of 2 to 30 cc/cm<SP>2</SP>xsec, and (d) a moisture permeability of 2,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>×24 hr or larger.
