PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image stabilizing device in which the reliability enough for a device can be secured while sufficiently attaining miniaturization, lightening, and a reduction in power consumption. SOLUTION: When a movable holding mechanism in a non-restraint state keeps fixed attitude for the prescribed time, as movement of the movable holding mechanism is restrained by driving a restraint mechanism by an automatic drive mechanism, trouble which may be caused by leaving it in a non-restraint state as it is can be prevented, and high reliability for the device can be secured. Especially, if the automatic drive mechanism is constituted by utilizing a solenoid, further miniaturization, lightening, and the reduction in power consumption can be attained.
