The invention concerns a method, applied to an electrical power steering system, which compensates vibrations and jerks from the mechanical steering system (4) and reverting to the steering wheel (3). It consists in: detecting the angular position of the steering wheel (3) and the position of the electrical power steering motor (7), measuring a force or a torque in the steering wheel (3), determining the presence of a particular relationship between the position of the steering wheel (3), the position of the motor (7) and the force or the torque in the steering wheel (3), and if said relationship is verified, acting on the electrical power steering motor (7), to prevent the steering wheel from rotating (3), and hence to minimize the force or the torque in the steering wheel (3). The method uses the sensors (10, 11, 12) and the calculator (9) available in the electrical power steering system. |
