A machine requiring the control of many components, e.g. shafts, pneumatics, heating, according to different technology requirements and for processing various materials, is automated in a universal manner by defining the objectives in a series of models. The models are arranged in a number of packets where the requirements for any particular application can be loaded flexibly as an input.
