PURPOSE: An optical switch for maintaining an optimum stance of a movable mirror and a control method thereof are provided to maintain the optimum stance of the movable mirror without dispersing communication light by using a coupler. CONSTITUTION: An optical switch includes a plurality of input lenses, a plurality of movable mirrors, and a plurality of output lenses. The input lenses(3) are used for receiving optically incident light and transmitting optically the incident light. The movable mirrors(5) are used for receiving the light outputted from the input lenses and transmitting the light to the output lenses. The output lenses(9) are used for receiving the light outputted from the movable mirrors. The input lenses are formed with a first input lens and a second input lens. The movable mirror includes a light emitting part and a light receiving part. The output lenses are formed with a first output lens and a second output lens.
