<p>A sound absorbing device comprises a screen member in the form of a flat bag 20 containing small pieces 4. The device is suitable for attachment to the interior of a fuel tank for alleviating and absorbing sound produced by fuel motion. The screen typically comprises a folded frame 3 which holds a mesh bag 20 having a sound absorbing portion 2 and includes tank mounting features. The pieces 4 may have four protrusions 43 to ensure that space is provided between them. A division may be provided by a joint portion (20d see fig 4c) to prevent pieces 4 from accumulating in one half of the bag 20.</p> |
