<p>A method for generating energy from wave motion has a boat (11) anchored fore and aft and with third anchor chain to drive a flywheel (142) via a freewheel clutch (141). The third anchor chain has a section of chain looped over a profiled wheel (14) with the free end of the chain fitted with a counterweight (16). The flywheel drives a generator (145). The system can be improved by two parallel generating systems, one driven by the upwards motion of the boat and one by the downwards motion. The energy generated can be for electricity generation or can be used to power dredging systems and water pumps etc. The boats are designed to operate in all weathers.</p> |
