PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic molding composition having low gloss and comprising a grafted acrylate rubber (ASA), and to provide a method for producing the composition. SOLUTION: The composition contains an effective amount of a gloss-reducing agent comprising a reaction product of (i) a compound having two or more maleic anhydride groups per one molecule with (ii) a compound having two or more primary amine terminal groups per one molecule. The method for mixing the gloss-reducing agent comprises blending the reaction product into the molten state ASA or blending the reactant (i) with (ii) under a process condition designed to cause in situ formation of the gloss-reducing agent.
