The invention relates to a non-self-supporting gas cylinder comprising a self-supporting gas cylinder (1) and a metal tube (2) which surrounds the cylinder and which is fixed to same. The aforementioned tube is resistant to bending and is made from an internally-welded tube. According to the invention, a longitudinal metal body is fixed to the tube along a generatrix and said body (3) can slide in a groove which is disposed in a plastic sleeve (8) which is connected to another outer tube (9).
