PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autofocus system of a contrast system based on focus evaluation values indicating the sharpness of an image, which system can move a focus at the moving speed adequately corresponding to the focus evaluation value characteristics meeting a focal length and aperture value by setting or limiting the moving speed in moving the focus of a taking lens in accordance with the focal length or aperture value of the taking lens and which system can surely move the focus to a focal position by a rapid and stable operation. SOLUTION: A CPU (Central Processing Unit) 40 of a lens device 10 moves a focus lens 16 to the focusing position in accordance with the focus evaluation values obtained from imagers 32A and 32B for focus point state detection during the AF (Auto Focus) control. At this point, the CPU detects the positions of a zoom lens 18 and an iris 20 and controls the moving speed of the focus lens 16 in accordance with these positions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
