PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image driving device which can reduce the cost of a driving part to drive an image display medium for displaying an image by moving particles. SOLUTION: Switches SW1, SW2, SW4, SW6, SW7 and SW9 are switched on so that a transparent electrode 28 and an electrode 30 are connected to a DC power source 32, one end of each of capacitors C1, C2 is connected to the DC power source 32 and the other end thereof is connected to the ground, and switches SW3, SW5, SW8 and SW10 are switched off so that the potentials of a display substrate 18 side and a rear surface substrate 20 becomes +V and the capacitors C1, C2 are charged. Then the switches SW3, SW5 are switched on so that the one end of the capacitor C1 is connected to the ground and the other end thereof is connected to the transparent electrode 28, and simultaneously the switches SW1, SW2, SW4 are switched off so that the capacitor C1 is discharged. By making the potential of the display substrate 18 side to be -V, white particles 26 move to the display substrate 18 side and black particles 24 move to the rear surface substrate 20 side.
