S-(-)-AMLODIPINE NICOTINATE AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME COMPOUND

PURPOSE: S-(-)-Amlodipine nicotinate and a process for preparing the same are provided. The compound has improved inhibition activity of calcium channel, so that it is useful for treatment of cardiovascular disease such as angina pectoris, hypertension and congestive heart failure. CONSTITUTION: S-(-)-amlodipine nicotinate, or anhydride or hydrate thereof is manufactured by reacting S-(-)-amlodipine with nicotinate in a water-containing inert solvent, wherein the prepared S-(-)-amlodipine nicotinate, or anhydride or hydrate thereof is recrystallized with a mixed solvent of 95% methanol-isopropanol or water-isopropanol(5:95).
