<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for recording on an optical disk medium, capable of executing running OPC by controlling recording power for achieving a more stable uniform recording state. <P>SOLUTION: In this device, an optical head for receiving reflected light from a beam spot S obtained by irradiating the track T of an optical disk recording medium with a laser beam has a structure in which light receiving elements 8a to 8d are arranged by divided into two (corresponding to areas E1, E2) in a track tangential direction during the projection formation of a reflected light spot S', and divided into two (corresponding to areas E3, E4) in a disk inner/outer peripheral direction perpendicular by 90 degrees to the track tangential direction on the same plane, that is, totally divided into four. A recording state is controlled by using a main beam preceding side detection signal (a+b) by the sum of destination side beams and a main beam succeeding side detection signal (c+d) by the sum of succeeding side beams (8c, 8d) in a beam advancing direction from the light receiving elements 8a to 8d for calculating detection indexes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
