PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a flange part 42 of a spring support 40 for attenuating the rotation of a rotating member 20 provided between a returning coil spring 35 rotatably applying force to an arm part 30 so that the tension pulley 3 pressurizes a V-ribbed belt B, and a boss part 24 of a rotating member 20 of the arm part 30, during assembling of an automatic tensioner which automatically adjusts tension of a V-ribbed belt wound between a plurality of pulleys. SOLUTION: A substantially circular protruded part 44 is integrally formed with the surface of the flange part 42 of the spring support 40, closer to the center than a chamferred part 43 provided on an outer circumference edge of the backside of the flange part 42, and substantially concentric with the cylindrical part 41 of the spring support 40.
