PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lowering and variation of image quality in the effective image region of a film. SOLUTION: The heat developing apparatus comprises a heating unit which has a circular arc shape in at least part of its periphery and conveys a film brought into contact with the peripheral surface of the circular arc-shaped part under heating and a plurality of pressing rollers which are arranged along the conveyance track of the film conveyed by the circular arc-shaped part and press the film on the peripheral surface of the circular arc-shaped part. When the curvature radius of the circular arc-shaped part is represented by R, the radius of the pressing rollers by r, the angle between the center of the adjacent pressing rollers and the center of curvature of the circular arc-shaped part byα(deg) and the pitch between the pressing rollers by p, the expressions p=2πRα/360 and p>2r are established. When a shorter one of the distance from the leading end of the effective image region of an image recorded on a film to the leading end of the film and the distance from the rear end of the effective image region to the rear end of the film is represented by l, the radius r, the angleαand the pitch p are set so as to satisfy l>p.
