WATER PURIFICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS USING PHOTOCATALYTIC REACTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification method capable of inducing a photocatalytic reaction while supplying sufficient oxygen into a liquid phase without expelling organic compounds into a gaseous phase. SOLUTION: The method of purifying water by decomposing organic materials in the water by the photocatalytic reaction comprises installing a diaphragm 3 having oxygen permeability at the boundary between the liquid phase 11 where the water to be purified exists and the gaseous phase 12 where oxygen exists and decomposing the organic materials by inducing the photocatalytic reaction in the liquid phase 11 by the oxygen in a dissolve state permeated through the diaphragm 3 and supplied from the gaseous phase 12 into the liquid phase 11.
