<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device of good picture quality by eliminating a decrease in the picture quality due to a leakage of light from a back light and a longitudinal smear (also called longitudinal crosstalk) due to the parasitic capacity between a video signal line and a pixel electrode. <P>SOLUTION: One substrate SUB1 between a pair of substrates which sandwiches a liquid crystal layer LC is equipped with a plurality of video signal lines DL, a plurality of pixel electrodes PX which are arranged in matrix form therewith and supplied with video signals from the video signal lines DL, and a plurality of conductive layers SLD provided via an insulating film IN1 at positions partially overlapping with the video signal lines DL, where the conductive layers SLD are electrically connected to the video signal lines DL respectively. Furthermore, the conductive layers SLD prevent light from the back light BL from leaking through a gap between two adjacent pixel electrodes PX. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
