The brake disc comprises a friction ring (1) and preferably dish-form holding section (2) positively connected to the friction ring through plastic deformations. Protrusions are formed in the holding section and are distributed over its circumference. The friction ring at least in the region of the corresponding holes for the engagement of the protrusions is formed from a brittle material. Shape conformable, sleeve-form intermediate elements (6) are fitted in the holes in the friction ring, and the protrusions engage on the inner faces of the intermediate elements. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the manufacture of a brake disc.
