PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely, surely and easily carry out version-up for a navigation data stored in an HDD. SOLUTION: The HDD for the updating storing navigation data is prepared when the navigation data is brought into the updating condition. An HDD for a user A used in a car navigation system is read out by requirement of the user A to transfer the navigation data between it and the HDD for the version-up, and a new HDD for the user is prepared to be used in the car navigation system. When the version-up navigation data is downloaded from the HDD for the version-up to the using HDD for the user, the HDD for the user serves as the new HDD for the user (Fig.a). When the user data is transferred from the HDD for the user to the HDD for the version-up, the HDD for the version-up serves as the new HDD for the user (Fig.b). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
