In a broadband communication system a transmitter is provided that includes an interpolator (134) between an RC shaping circuit and an analog front end (AFE) and includes an interpolating filter (130) for receiving complex samples from the RC shaping circuit and converting the samples to a complex output which is then combined to a real output by the cosine/sine (131) and the notches required are filtered out by the amateur bandstop filters (132). This output is then interpolated up to 120 MHz (133) and sent to the AFE.
