The curved portion (13) of the stirrup bone prosthesis (10) is of a modified U-shape with one end curves and the other end elongated (15). There is a bulbous projection (16) from the base of the U-shape. The side of the U-shape is connected to a straight shaft (12) with a piston-like end (11) whose flat end (11.1) rests on the oval window of the inner ear.
