PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device in an electric moving shelf device that permits automatic opening of a space between desired moving shelves without performing a special operation and reduces the fear of a malfunction or the like. SOLUTION: Non-contact type object detection sensors 14R and 14L are provided on the front of each of the moving shelves 4, 5 and 6. A start input signal to move the moving shelves is sent to the control means of the electric driving means to ensure that the sensors 14R and 14L of a pair of adjacent moving shelves 4, 5 and 6 simultaneously operate only for previously set period of time of a timer and thereby form a working passage between the pair of moving shelves.
