PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas barrier coating agent having excellent gas barrier properties even at a high humidity, and a gas barrier film. SOLUTION: The coating agent composition comprises a compound (A) containing two or more hydroxy groups in the molecule, a poly(meth)acrylic acid (B) and a compound (C) in which at least one carboxy group is bonded to each carbon atom of three or more continuous carbon atoms in the molecule, respectively in the mass ratio (A)/(B) of the components (A) and (B) of 95/5-5/95 and in the ratio (B)/(C) of the component (B) and (C) of 50/50-95/5.
