PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer mirror for a vehicle in which a base can be manufactured at a low cost in a structure providing a stopper mechanism for housing a mirror assembly, between the base and the mirror assembly. SOLUTION: The stopper mechanism for housing the mirror assembly 3 is composed of a groove 48 of circular arc shape provided in the base 2, and a projection 49 provided projecting in the groove 48 of circular arc shape from a bracket 5 constituting the mirror assembly 3. In this case, since the structure is different from the conventional structure of providing the base with the projection, there is no need to bisect the base 2 for die forming in manufacturing the base 2, so that a manufacturing cost can be suppressed.
