PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic free from the problems of hair cosmetics formulated with an amino-modified silicone. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic contains (A) a cationic surfactant, (B) a betaine-type amphoteric surfactant, (C) a 14-22C higher alcohol, (D) a dimethylpolysiloxane having a viscosity of≤100 mm<SP>2</SP>/s and (E) the amino-modified silicone. The amounts of (A), (B) and (C) in the cosmetic are≥0.5 wt.%,≥0.1 wt.% and≥10 wt.%, respectively, and the weight ratio of (D) to (E) ä(D/E)} is (5-40):1. The cosmetic does not cause the sticking/squeaking trouble in rinsing, gives soft and moist feeling of the hair in rinsing and dried state and forms dried and finished hair having good collectability and free from tackiness.
