PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method of a magnesium alloy molten metal capable of obtaining a high-quality magnesium alloy cast slab with high yield without using flux in the atmospheric. SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy is supplied into a casting mold using an immersion nozzle and a lid covers the molten metal surface between the immersion nozzle and the inner wall of the casting mold. The magnesium alloy molten metal is supplied into the casting mold using a wide range type immersion nozzle that covers the molten metal surface of the magnesium alloy inside the casting mold. It is preferred that at least one of the lid, the immersion nozzle and the wide range type immersion nozzle is heated, an inert gas is blown into a clearance between the lid or the wide range type immersion nozzle and the inner wall of the casting mold, or a clearance between the lid or the wide range type immersion nozzle and the inner wall of the casting mold is sealed.
