摘要 PURPOSE: An automatic focusing method for iris recognition system is provided to achieve a real time iris recognition system by shortening the time taken for iris recognition and quickly detecting iris area by using position information of specular reflection. CONSTITUTION: An automatic focusing method comprises a first step(401) of measuring a distance from a user at a constant time interval; a second step(402) of judging user action characteristics on the basis of the distance measured in the first step; a third step(403) of tracking specular reflection in a real time basis; a fourth step(404) of judging whether the user action characteristics are stabilized; a fifth step(405) of adjusting migration length for lens in advance; a sixth step(406) of adjusting zoom and focus in accordance with the distance measured in the first step and specular reflection information being tracked in a real time basis in the third step; a seventh step(407) of calculating degree of focusing through an analysis of iris image; an eighth step(408) of judging whether the specular reflection image has a size larger than the predetermined level; a ninth step(409) of changing the position of LEDs; and a tenth step(410) of adjusting the degree of focusing.
