摘要	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of phosphor layer in various steps in a plasma display device to thereby improve the luminance, life, and reliability. SOLUTION: The plasma display device has a green phosphor which emits visible rays under the excitation by ultraviolet rays and of which the luminous center is Mn<SP>2+</SP>. The phosphor has a crystal structure represented by Zn<SB>2</SB>SiO<SB>4</SB>: Mn<SP>2+</SP>, BaAl<SB>12</SB>O<SB>19</SB>:Mn<SP>2+</SP>, or (Ba, Sr, Mg)O aAl<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>:Mn<SP>2+</SP>, wherein Mn<SP>2+</SP>and Mn<SP>3+</SP>, or Mn<SP>2+</SP>and Mn<SP>4+</SP>, or Mn<SP>2+</SP>, Mn<SP>3+</SP>, and Mn<SP>4+</SP>are present in a mixed state. By using the phosphor, a high-luminance plasma display device hardly undergoing the degradation in luminance in a panel production process is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
