<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection system which can obtain a high definition picture by using a small number of constitutional elements. <P>SOLUTION: The projection system displays a color picture by projecting a plurality of red pixels, green pixels and blue pixels on a screen. The projection system is provided with a liquid crystal plate 17 for red color which modulates the red pixels, a liquid crystal plate 16 for blue color which modulates the blue pixels, a liquid crystal plate 18 for first green color which modulates the first green pixels and a liquid crystal plate 19 for second green color which modulates the second green pixels. Therein, the first green pixels and the second green pixels whose positions are shifted by a half pixel of the minimum pixel unit respectively in the transverse direction and the vertical direction correspond to the red pixels and the blue pixels projected on the screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
