PURPOSE: A method for settling the price by using a mobile terminal is provided to shorten the time of settlement and improve authentication procedures by making the price, used off-line, settled through a mobile terminal having a subscriber identification function and an infrared communication function, interworking with a price settlement system in a mobile network. CONSTITUTION: A price payer makes his mobile terminal execute a process for price settlement, and the mobile terminal enters a receive standby mode state for a payment request message(S201). A price claimer makes a credit card checker execute a process for price settlement by inputting the amount of settlement the payer should pay(S202). The credit card checker creates the payment request message and transmits it to the mobile terminal(S203). If the payment request message is received, the mobile terminal reads user authentication information through an off-card software module, makes user payment information and the acquired user authentication information in the form of an infrared message through an IrFM(Infrared Financial Messaging) application software module, and transmits it to the credit card checker(S204). The credit card checker transmits the received payment and authentication information and the inputted settlement amount information to an authentication/billing server through the medium of a VAN and asks for the approval(S205,S206).
