PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to reinforce the orientation force at a first side wall part defining contact holes for preventing the light leakage from the first side wall part. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a TFT substrate(100), a C/F substrate(200) facing the TFT substrate, and a liquid crystal layer(300) between the substrates. The TFT substrate is formed with an organic insulating film(130) with contact holes(135) for exposing drain electrodes(126). The contact holes are defined by first and second side wall parts. The first side wall part has a first slant surface(131a) with an inclination angle(&thgr;1) and a second slant surface(131b) with an inclination angle(&thgr;2) facing the first slant surface. The first and second inclination angles are accurate angles, respectively 30° or less, and larger than 30° but smaller than 60°. |
