PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constitution of lifting up and down mechanism for lifting up a rotary plowing device without lifting up a handle, and also aim at the improvement of various operating properties by reviewing the total constitution of a walking type plower accompanying with the adoption of the lifting up and down mechanism. SOLUTION: This walking type rotary plower by arranging a transmission case 3 and traveling wheels 12, 12 at the center of a machine body and the rotary plowing device 4 and an operating handle 22 at one side of the front and rear of the transmission case 3, and constituting the rotary plowing device 4 as capable of being lifted up and down is constituted by arranging a hitch part 13 and a lifting up and down actuator (a hydraulic cylinder 66) for joining the rotary plowing device 4 at the rear part of the transmission case 3 as freely being lifted up and down and supporting a tail wheel-supporting body 47 against the rotary plowing device 4 as capable of freely sliding up and down by joining the operating handle 22 and the upper part of the tail-supporting body 47 to the lifting up and down actuator through a lifting up and down linking mechanism 40.
