PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm system which can prevent an expert from being forced to perform useless work by making a person concerned who well knows the conditions of a guard object 1 determine information transmitted from an object first, which can be connected to the development of an area in a fixed range by not leaving all guard work to an expert group, and which can effectively utilize old type portable telephone sets which are being discarded in spite of their being sufficiently usable without discarding them. SOLUTION: The alarm system comprises: a sensor 2 installed to a guard object 1; a first portable telephone set T1 installed to the guard object 1; another second portable telephone set T2; and a receiver 4 installed at a position where guards gather. Signals transmitted by the sensor 2 installed to the guard object 1 are received by the first portable telephone set T1 and transmitted to the second portable telephone set T2, and the signals are received by the second portable telephone set T2. Whether to transmit received information to the gathering place of the guards or to adopt other means is selected in the second portable telephone set T2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
