PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowmeter capable of selecting a measuring cycle not an integral multiple of a pulsation cycle in a relatively short time in an environment wherein pressure pulsation is generated. SOLUTION: An instantaneous flow calculation part 20b measures an instantaneous flow with a measuring cycle set in a measuring timing generation part 20a by using an instantaneous flow measuring part 4. A synchronization determination part 25 is provided with a first peak detection means 25b and a second peak detection means 25c for deciding an upper peak value and a lower peak value from the time series of the instantaneous flow, and an intermediate value setting means 25a for setting the average value of the upper peak value and the lower peak value as an intermediate value. A measuring cycle change means 25 formed in the determination part 25 directs the generation part 20a to change the measuring cycle when the instantaneous flow does not cross the intermediate value in a specified multiple times of continuous measurement.
