PURPOSE: A portable storage device is provided to make an assistant case, for preserving and supporting a lower end of a main body, separable, and to install a connector for connecting to an extension memory so that it can extend a memory according to a user request. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a connector(31), an assistant cover(35), and a main body(33). The assistant cover(35) and the connector(31) are combined with the main body(33) for covering the lower end of the main body(33) when the portable storage device is produced and sold. In a case that a memory extension is needed, the assistant cover(35) is detached from the main body(33), and an extension cover(35a) having an extension memory gets combined with the main body(33). The extension cover(35a) can have the memories of different capacities.
