PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress correction in the direction of a specified color. SOLUTION: A highlight and a shadow point are detected based on the histogram of an image (S101). Average color difference information is adjusted based ion a hue angle which is obtained average color difference information of image data provided with luminance levels in the highlight and the shadow point, and, then, color information are corrected in the highlight and the shadow point (S104).
