<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the mismatching of the state of a printer and the print setting of a printer host. <P>SOLUTION: A printer driver 320 acquires the information of the number of colors of ink mounted on a printer 10 in executing printing, and compares the acquired information with the information set in the printer driver 320, and when those information is not matched with each other, notices the result to a user.
