The camshaft adjuster comprises a hydraulic control piston (10) controlling an adjusting unit, which adjusts the angle of the camshaft. The control piston is in a separate guide casing (11). This guide casing has control edges formed by borings (12, 13, 14, 15) and/or grooves. The casing may be fitted in the camshaft (16).
